Aiguamolls de l’Empordà Nature Reserve (an hours drive): Situated along the coast of Roses bay, a protected area of wetlands with much flora and fauna of great interest. Botanical gardens: There are 3 different botanical gardens in the area, Mar i Murtra and Pinya de Rosa in Blanes and Cap Roig in Plafrugell.
